    TV is incredible!
Unbelievable picture and sound quality! Huge step up from our 12 year old 55” tv.

    Amazing screen, less smart electronics
Initial review: it has an amazing screen but the smart features are lacking compared to past Bravia models. It has an 8k screen but the internal android TV can only drive a 4k picture.Networking Update: The internal WiFi is what most people will use and it’s okay. Nerds like me like to use ethernet when possible, especially for large data hogs like 4K HDR HD media. The built in ethernet port sucks. Sony should be ashamed. You can get a USB3 Ethernet adapter that uses a compatible internal chipset and get much better performances. I got the TP-Link UE300 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YUU3KC6 and wow that is an improvement. The adapter needs to use the RTL8153 chipset. See r/bravia on reddit if you need more info.Running some network speed tests I got: Internal Ethernet 88 Mbps, Internal WiFi 246 Mbps, and USB Ethernet 660 Mbps.UPDATE: There is a setting buried in Network Settings called “Remote Start” and when enabled you can use your phone/smart device to power on the TV but it also seems the TV uses much more power when “off” if this feature is enabled. (CORRECTED: I cannot use my voice assistant to power on the TV if it’s been idle for a while. Bravia’s from years past I’ve been able to use my android phone or Google assistant to power on the TV, this one I have to use the physical remote. First of first world problems, but man I paid a lot of this only for it to be less “smart” than older TV’s in the brand.)

    amazing picture
I’m super happy with this purchase. The picture quality is amazing even in a living room that has two walls of windows. Well done, Sony.

    Awesome Screen
I bought the 85 inch from a different merchant famous for selling electronics.I’ve had it for two months and the screen is the best I have ever seen.Update February 28, 2024- I bought the 85 inch in May 2023. As of February 2024 the tv is still spectacular with no issues.Love it!

Great picture, poor wired ethernet connection
One thing to say about picture quality- it’s simply great- 5/5. Wired ethernet connection is only 100 mbs, totally unacceptable for a tv that costs $10K (85″). Most people won’t care, but it is a miss for those who may want to stream 4K video locally through their wired ethernet connection. 4K video can often peak well above 100 mbs and can cause stuttering and buffering. Why Sony didn’t spend another $1 to put in a standard 1gbs wired ethernet jack on a $10K tv is crazy to me. Enough to not buy a Sony in the future. 5/5 for display quality and 1/1 for ethernet connectivity (for those who care), so 3/5 overall.

Great picture, cable control/organization, Glare issue
The picture is fantastic, WIFI works great and setup was pretty easy. Not crazy about the camera attachment but I opted out of using it, so I might not get the full Dolby experience with my Sony Dolby Atmos soundbar. The only real downside is that it’s virtually impossible to watch with any sun. The glare is worse than any TV I’ve ever owned previously, and I can’t move it from its current location due to the size. (There is actually media playing in the photo attached)
