Beautiful addition to my kitchen
much cheaper than any stores had to offer for same brand which was surprising. I wanted white but no one has that. I hate stainless steel as it’s too hard to keep clean. this is a very nice stove top. BUT the knobs do not come off for access to clean better but a toothbrush would work. definitely recommend for the price and value before you can’t get them anymore.

Great cook top
After going thru 2 other expensive cooktops in 20 years, the new one that came with our new house, and a pricey Kitchen Aid unit that lasted less than 7 years, we decided to go cheap this time. And it works just fine. Only thing we noticed is you can hear the gas flowing at higher temp settings, but we got used to that. I try to clean up spills quickly, and follow up with a spray stainless steel cleaner / polish. It cleans easily and looks like new.Only issue I had was the pressure regulator protrudes from the bottom in a different location than the prior unit, and conflicted with some shallow drawers below the cooktop location, requiring some extra woodworking, but these drawers are not typically found in most installations.In all, we are very happy with it, and happy we didn’t pay several times as much for another big-$$, low quality Big Name cooktop.

Caveat Emptor! Defective and No Refund or Exchanges
Bought this Empava 36-inch gas stove in January (2023) partly based on user reviews, partly based on its description and how it looks, and partly based on its price. First off, I/we love the way it looks. It replaced a two-decade old gas cooktop. HOWEVER, looks only get you so far as functionality, and an ability to just function, are really the most important factors.First, the burners are really great, but ,maybe a little too great. In other words, four of the five burners, even on their lowest setting burn way too hot.Second, the smallest burner, bottom right corner, worked for the first couple of months and then crapped out. With this cooktop, you are supposed to hold the ignition knob in place for 3-5 seconds which is described as a safety feature. Well, even when I hold for 10 seconds it will not stay lit rendering it useless (see video). Plus, this is the smallest burner so if want to cook something low and slow, you cannot.Third, I should have read the fine print as there are no returns or exchanges for this so we just ate $350 as we are now purchasing a new cooktop.Fourth, the grates in my opinion are spaced too far apart. If you are you using a smaller pan you really have to stay centered on the burner or it will tip due to the grate spacing.Caveat emptor: buyer beware. Definitely buyer beware and I do not recommend this cooktop. You are better off spending a little bit more plus, make sure you purchase one from a place that has a return or exchange policy.

Very disappointing purchase
After using this cook top for several weeks I am not feeling like I got my money’s worth. This unit replaced an Amana four burner that was 15+ years old. I did convert this unit to LP, which was relatively painless with the supplied kit. The small burner (listed at 4000 BTU) which is stated to be able to simmer does no such thing. Anything you use it for boils, and when you adjust the flame from high to low, the visual appearance is barely noticeable on flame height. We didn’t have this much of an issue with out old unit, which had a burner rating of 4500 BTU.Dealing with customer service has been mixed, done via email only, dealing with broken English. They did not direct responses to what it was I was telling them, instead focusing on whether the regulator was converted or not. It took several emails back and forth to finally get the answers to their recommendation for adjusting the flame height: which, for the record, you have to unscrew each burner from the top of the unit & lift it off. Not easy as I had sealed the unit with caulk. While I was able to reduce the flame on the small burning, the large left front burner would not adjust whatsoever.Also, the grates are already warping as pans will rock back & forth when in the center of a burner. I put oil in a skillet on the front burner & it rolled toward the back, toward the middle of the cook top. I thought maybe my counter was not level. Then I did the same with the burner directly behind: the oil rolled toward the front (again, center of the cook top) so the grates are bowed, evidently.Empava did offer to replace the unit with a new one. However, I would have to pay the shipping for returning the old unit. As I live in OH & they are in CA, it would cost about 1/3 the retail price; and I may get another unit that’s the same — or possibly worse.I gave it two stars overall because of the cheaper cost compared to bigger brand names. However, once again the old phrase is proven true: you get what you pay for.
