12” is not that big
I am happy with this oven for a couple reasons. First, it’s a good value. Being my first pizza oven I didn’t want to get too invested until I knew if and how I would use it. Second, it’s well constructed and gets very hot. It’s a solid piece of equipment and does a good job.I have done homemade pizza, frozen pizza and steaks in it so far. My experience has been it gets about +/- 750 F. after a 30 minute pre heat. This is excellent for fresh pizza dough pizzas. Also an amazing way to cook steak in a cast iron skillet. My only issue is the opening is 12”, which is a little tight for some pizza peels and cast iron. I knew the size when I purchased it, but didn’t think much of it. If and when I upgrade, I would definitely get a wider opening. Overall- very satisfied with this oven and performance at the entry- level price point. A fun way to cook.

Fun family night activity
Love it! So much fun planning and executing our first pizza night 🙂 Find a good dough recipe and be sure to flour your peel well before placing your dough for prep. We made 5 -12″ pizzas! Good quality, easy to use, and we love that we can take it with us on trips to the lake/camping.

use electric or pellets, mine would not ignite
the big horn arrived well packed. good t everything installed and guess what it would not ignite. I played with this thing for over an hr outside in freezing temps. called it quits and went outside to try it again. didn’t work. called customer service and they said this can’t be sent back. I don’t want to use pellets as a main fuel source. I already own a propane tank so using that was ideal. no product support is crazy but not accepting returns is diabolical. one star!

Works well
Works well. I have used the gas and pellets to make pizza. Gets very hot. Very happy with the results so far. Nice crust. There is a learning curve. I recommend getting the peel that fits this unit.

Pizzas cook well but has design flaws
Needs a hopper system for the wood pellets. Pellets burn out fast and always have to be filled. Changing to propane gas burner is very difficult. Three screws have to be removed to attach gas burner and they don’t come out. The screws just spin and the nuts on the inside are hidden and not accessible. Big design flaw. I have cooked some really good pizzas.
