THINK TWICE OR YOU MAY GET BURNED – DO NOT ORDER THIS!!!
I have been a prime member for many years and have ordered lots of products from Amazon and one of its biggest customers – always had great experiences and products received – and did not mind telling friends and family – even helped them make purchases if they had never used Amazon before. I read the reviews and noted a small portion of customers that had stated they had issues redeeming the codes and Amazon would not help them as Amazon’s policy is NO REFUND FOR NO REASON with gift cards. I remember thinking maybe I should not, but this is Amazon surely, I will have no problems…….I purchased 2 $250 gift cards for my son who is overseas in the Army. This was his first Christmas away from home and how do you make Christmas special in that situation? He even told us he did not want anything, but I knew he had taken his PS with him and what better way for him to get a little Christmas joy then getting these. I had issues getting the purchase to go through on Dec 14, 2025, on my Amazon Prime Card (yes, I told you I was a big fan of Amazon and I even have their credit card), that should have been alert number 1, but Amazon has always done good and I have had no issues, so I called the next day and asked customer service to help the order go through and they did. I received my codes a short time later in my email, this was a Monday 12.15.2025. I was waiting for my son to be available and to receive a small Christmas care package that I had sent him with a note that had a picture of a PS card and told him to text me when he got it so I could get him the codes. He texted me on 12.17.2025 and I sent him the codes, and he almost immediately texted back the codes had already been redeemed. I reached out to Amazon who sent me to PS, PS wanted proof I purchased the codes and I sent them my Amazon invoice. PS told me the codes had been used on 12.15.2025. PS sent me a link to send my invoice and less than 24 hours they came back that was not good enough for them to validate that I had purchased the codes. I reached back out to Amazon for help on what PS needed, and they told me to send invoice, print out of order screen, and email I received. Which I did, PS was able to tell me that day, someone on the west coast of US redeemed them. PS came back again less than 24 hours and told me they could not validate my purchase. I reached back out to Amazon for assistance in getting PS what they needed to see I did purchase the codes and not a scammer. Amazon rep filed a request to gift card team to review and reach out to PS to see what they needed and in about 48 hours I should know something. About a week later, I reached out again as I had heard nothing. I was told that there should have been a request sent to the “store” or supplier – which even know on the page shows “Amazon Services LLC”, it was actually a 3rd party. The rep was really nice and sent the request – “48 hours you should hear back if not call us and we will go to the next step”. I had hope, surely Amazon will take care of their customers, especially one that has been a prime member as long as I have. I had to call again as no communication was received, this time the Amazon rep told me the forms had not been completely filled out, he completed them correctly and even sent a request to the urgent team to review – I really felt like I was going to get some help. Again 48 hours I should hear back. Well, here we are today 5 days later and when I called, I was passed to a customer service manager to see if she could help me figure out why I had not heard anything of if I could just get a refund. I should say, along the way with the multiple Amazon reps I have spoken to, at this time I have lost count, they had stated well if Amazon had been the supplier, then we could refund you, as I mentioned above the page does say that. I related my story which seems like the hundredth time and the plead that I just need someone to help me get what I need to get new codes or a refund, this is not a small amount of money and my son in the Army is still awaiting his Christmas gift – all I wanted to do is give my son across the world a little feel of home and that he has not been forgotten. The customer service rep manager basically read me the statement on the page, “No refunds under any reasons”. I asked to speak to her manager, she proceeds to tell me her manager does not take calls and she was “it”. I asked so there is no one above you, no person nor department I can speak to regarding this? “No”. There are no more options for me through Amazon. So, the last almost 45 days I have been lied too, strung along, given hope…. all for nothing? “There is nothing more we can do”.I see the majority of people purchasing these have no issues, but let me tell you, pause a minute, if you happen to end up like me, will it be worth all the stress and feeling like you have been misled for almost 45 days as a royal Amazon customer??? For anyone else in this situation, I was told to call and dispute the charges with my credit card, if I was still within the window. I am definitely rethinking if I want to be attached to a company that does not value their members any more than this experience over the last month has shown me.
