Best Value in All-Clad
I’ve had this cookware for about 3 years now and love it! It heats fast and evenly, is well made, and very attractive. This line is well constructed and if properly cared for the pans should last forever. I have all three skillet sizes (8″, 10″, and 12″), two saute pans (3 qt., and 6 qt.), two saucepans (1.5 qt. and 3.5 qt.), and the 6 qt. stock pot. I started with a 7-piece set from Amazon and have since added pieces here and there either when they’re on sale or I have some extra cash. Bed Bath & Beyond is a great place to pick up open stock pieces (20% off coupons!), so are Amazon and Cookwarenmore.com (which has “irregular” pieces with minor cosmetic imperfections at deep discounts). I would like to round out the set with the other two saucepan sizes (1 qt. and 2 qt.) and the larger stock pot (8 qt.) to have a complete set to last me the rest of my life.I used to have a non-stick collection from Costco that I wanted to phase out due to health concerns regarding the teflon coating. It just didn’t seem right or natural, and ingesting any teflon flakes that scraped off made me nervous. The interior cooking surface of the MC2 line is the exact same stainless steel surface that all All-Clad lines have. It’s bulletproof and cooks amazingly. I haven’t had any sticking problems with the MC2 line- just remember to pre-heat the pan for a minute or so before you add any oil or food. I don’t have any non-stick pieces, so I can’t speak to those. This set has an outer layer of brushed aluminum alloy instead of the shiny stainless steel that other All-Clad lines have. This gives it a cool industrial look that the inevitable scratches look more at home on. It also gives the cookware a bigger overall mass of aluminum that should transfer heat faster and better than the stainless exterior pans. The downsides to this exterior are that its not recommended for the dishwasher and that it is NOT induction cooktop compatible. I would hand wash regardless and prefer gas, so these aren’t issues for me, but they might be for you.The set cleans up easily (use some Bar Keeper’s Friend for stubborn spots). I put a piece in the dishwasher once and the exterior oxidized and darkened- Some BKF and elbow grease had it looking new again in no time. I would stick with All-Clad’s recommendation of hand washing. The long stay cool handles do stay cool while cooking and you won’t need a kitchen towel or pot holder for these. If you grab close to the base of the handle, it’s going to be hot though. The short helper handles and lid handles do, however, get hot while cooking. This isn’t a design flaw, it’s just how they are, but they will require a pot holder or towel to grab while cooking.I think this is the best value in the All-Clad line as it’s the least expensive, cooks better than the more expensive stainless line (due to the higher Aluminum content) and has a cool commercial look. The only downsides to the MC2 line are it’s not induction compatible and the line isn’t as extensive as the more mainstream stainless line. For me the cost savings, thermal superiority, and commercial look outweigh these drawbacks. You won’t go wrong with any piece of All-Clad, MC2 or otherwise.

Excellent quality made in USA
I have this product for 10 months now. I wanted to wait & use it for a while before writing a review. I’m very happy with it as it cooks great and is easy to clean. If something gets stuck just let it sit with dish soap & water for a while & it will clean easily. Last year I decided to go for stainless steel for healthy reasons & threw away all prior pots. I also wanted made in USA because of quality control issues. All Clad is not only made in USA but uses American steel, that’s why I decided to purchase it. It won’t disappoint. I don’t write too many reports but decided to write this one.

A fine set of cookware for an individual or small family
This All-Clad MC2 7 piece set is suitable for an individual or small family. The actual pots and pans are solidly and beautifully constructed in the United States. Although the lids are manufactured in China, they are sturdy, and fit well. Cleaning is a breeze with soapy water, and a little baking soda for tough spots. The construction is sturdy enough to prevent most sticking, yet light enough to make for easy handling. Overall, I would recommend this set. It is a fine, basic assortment–functional, and attractive.

Wonderful things but —
But only if you do not mind extra work. You will not be able to toss in dishwasher. Your food however will be better as you learn how to cook without teflon. Saute, fry, simmer, boil like a chef.

My second set of All Clad
I’m having to replace my All-Clad MC2 pots and pans since the ex-wife is getting them in the divorce. I get to keep the Wusthof knives at least. I looked around for other sets but decided to go back to what I know I liked and worked well. The brushed exterior looks great and I don’t have to worry about polishing it like I would on the mirrored surface. Cooking is great for all the reasons mentioned before so I won’t go into that.I only give it 4-stars because I hate the clean up, but to keep them in in excellent condition, that’s what I have to do. Water stains, spots, burnt food (I’m not the best cook in the world and a high end cook set won’t make me one overnight), will stay there unless you clean it correctly. What I’ve found works best is clean with soapy water if there’s gunk left over, but then stains will be left behind. To get rid of the stains/spots, I use Barkeeper’s Friend and a cloth and scrub scrub scrub. Best to scrub in big circles to match the circular grain pattern of the cooking surfaces. Finally I have to use soapy water again to get rid of the Barkeeper’s Friend residue. Then dry immediately.I’ve read that it’s dishwater safe, but not recommended. To keep them pretty, I do all the steps above. Each pot, each pan, each time. A hassle? Yes, but for the quality you get it is worth it. The set I’m losing is only a year and a half old, but they cooking surfaces look brand new. A few small scratches on the outside are from clumsiness but doesn’t affect the way they cook the food.I recommend this product if you can take good care of them. They’ll be the last pots and pans you’ll need to buy. Unless you loose them in a divorce…

3 out of 7 of the cookware was used. It had unremovable stains. Was scratched pretty badly. Very bad purchase and experience

First of all, please update the photo of the set. It should feature the 3-quart saucepan instead of the sauté pan. I was initially expecting to receive the sauté pan, but that’s okay; I love everything else in the set. However, I do wish the D3 series came with brushed stainless steel. Other than that, I have no complaints.

All Clad is great quality, but the set received was not as advertised, so a little disappointed as the saute pan was not part of set as advertised?! Bummer.

All Clad makes a great product and this is a great price. Note that the only picture does not match the description.
