Great Build Quality, Works PerfectlyI have an ancient 2013 15″ MacBook Pro that I keep alive for certain lighter streaming jobs because I have two Thunderbolt 2 Video Input devices for my professional video cameras. Because it’s been used heavily in the field the original power adapter cables were frayed to the point that even the electrical tape holding it together was failing. The wiring was becoming exposed. I needed to find an inexpensive, high-quality replacement.This power adapter works perfectly. The build quality matches the original. The older magsafe connector is well-made. It holds in place on the laptop well. The charging light on it is reliably visible. The cable connecting it to the charger is good. The AC adapter locks into the power unit with a confident click.After plugging it in, I called up the System Info and looked under power, and the charger is identified and shows that it’s 85 Watts.You can feel secure in purchasing this. It’s a great price, especially for a charger type that’s become scarce. It’s a definite buy if you’re keeping an older MacBook Pro alive.

This is an 85W Macbook Pro “Magsafe 2” compatible offbrand charger. This is not an authentic “original” product, but I can assure you that it works just fine. It connects magnetically and functions seemingly identically to the original chargers. The magnetic end connectors I’m sure we are aware of if we own these type of computers, as it is a “mag safe” meaning if you trip over it, it’s not going to yank your laptop to the floor, it detatches and saves your computer.The quality of this is a step above some of the real knock offs, though I must say this one has more promise than other’s I’ve experienced in the past. Being a certified repair technician for that brand, I can assure you I have seen it all. Authentics to blatant spoof knockoffs of the poorest quality.This one is good quality, though I must say that the cable/wire gauge is not as thick as the originals, but it still works. It’s ever so slightly thinner in my opinion. I have not explicitly measured this, as it’s only an observation compared to the originals.This came well packaged, though I must point out the wire’s end that connects to the brick seemed a little “kinked” and bent, which this is the #1 cause for failing cables is the constant kinking of this end, it will break the wires conductivity eventally and your charger won’t work. This is common on the originals as well if they are not propperly handled and stored. Try your best to keep these ends from bending too sharply, and they will last you a long time.Overall this is an excellent and affordable replacement for the originals. The originals back in the day had cost 4x more than this replacement. I am happy I can still get these chargers to restore some old Macbook laptops I have. I hope to donate them to charities or perhaps to some needy kids who don’t have a computer.Overall this is a great option. Check your model’s year and compatibility with this… It’s a Magsafe 2, so I think there are about 4-5 other charging port types for these laptops these days.

Good MacBook Charge Cable.
My wife’s MacBook Pro needed a new charger cord. Her original cord had started to fray and was making her nervous. I found this one and liked that it was made for her older MacBook. The charger fits nicely in the magnetic charge port. The little light turns on showing the her computer is charging. The charge block gets slightly warm while she has her computer plugged in and charging. She said she hasn’t noticed a difference is charge speed between the new and the older charger. It definitely does not charge slower so that’s a plus. The charge block also has little flaps for winding the cord. This comes in handy when she’s needed to transport her computer back and forth from work. No messy cords getting tangled up in her purse.

Solid Replacement – Powers up fast and fits perfectly!
I ordered this 85W adapter to replace my original 60W Apple charger (Model A1435) that was starting to fray. I have an older Mac pro book (A1502) which is listed as a compatible model in the description. The listing states that the cord is 6ft long, however when I measured the length of the cord and power brick it was 5’ 10” long. Fortunately the new charger is fully compatible with the Apple Power Adapter Extension Cable from my old 60W unit, This instantly transforms my 6-foot charging setup back into a 12-foot setup. The MagSafe 2 connector snaps right into my MacBook Pro just like the original. It stays secure and doesn’t wiggle out. The LED light on the connector is accurate, it glows amber when charging and turns green when the battery is full. And since this is an 85W charger replacing a 60W, I’ve noticed my laptop actually charges a bit faster.

I have a 2015 Macbook Pro Retina 15.4 inch that is still going strong – the battery is just starting to wear and I am needing to keep it plugged in while working most of the time. We care for rescue animals so I need to be mobile to move my place of work from time to time, so I was looking for an additional MacBook charger to station in another location that I have been using more recently so I don’t have to keep unplugging the main charger and relocating it every time I switch locations as it can occur several times a day.This 85 watt charger is identical to my OEM charger and works perfectly to keep me online. I so appreciate that manufacturers are still making this for an 11 year old Mac to extend its life even further. If you are looking for a T-Tip charger for your seasoned MacBook, this is a great option.
