Fantastic Mower, but don’t make my mistakes.
I was ready to return it. I was mad and frustrated until I realized my mistake.I unboxed it and installed the base charging station. Charged up the mower. Connected to the app and completed all steps (or so I thought). Got all updates installed (or so I thought). After fully charging I realized the charging station was just a little too close to my house and the GPS signals weren’t good enough so I moved it just a few feet further from the house. After that I went to mapping. Driving the mower to my first zone I noticed the mower was tracking to the right like a car with a bad alignment. Then the thing kept telling me I was running into stuff but nothing was there. Then the front drive overheated. I was already getting frustrated and I had just gotten started. I managed to manually map my first zone and a channel to it. I let it get a full charge and sent it out for a one time mow. When it got to the zone it went mindlessly all over the zone. It kept stopping and waiting and turn and stopping and never really getting anywhere. So I stopped it and returned it to home. It wouldn’t dock at the charger. Day 2 I broke out the instructions and read and read. I figured maybe it’s losing it GPS with Network RTK because of the metal shop next to my house so I installed the RTK antenna and switched over to it. I also moved the charging station again. I had to remap my zone 1. Same thing and same problems. It wouldn’t dock again. I’m tired of it already. Day 3 I think maybe it just doesn’t mow straight line on one time mow so decided to set a schedule and see what it does. Does the same stuff. I am fed up and thinking I got a lemon. I started a return with Amazon. I start watching YouTube videos and found one mentioning setting up a vision free zone around the charging station and that would help it with docking problems. So I tried that and it worked. So I thought maybe vision is making it do all the crazy stuff in my zone 1. So I made the entire zone a vision free zone. Nope it’s still acting crazier than a wired fenced old robot lawn mower mindlessly roaming the yard. I send it back to the charger. At least it’s doing that part now. So late at night I’m tossing and turning and regretting life decisions. Then I thought “you know I’ve never shut off the power to the mower and restarted it even once”. Just maybe the firmware updates don’t install until it’s rebooted. Surely it reboots itself automatically after an update though right? Apparently not because I got up and threw on a pair of shorts, braved the cold and rebooted the Mowers power. Then I enabled night mowing and sent it to mow one last time before I pack it all back up and send it back to Segway and write a bad review on Amazon. That doggone mower flew out to zone 1 and mowed beautiful straight as an arrow lines and finished the whole zone in about 50 minutes. This morning I finished setting up the rest of my yard into zones, marked off all of my no go zones, set it back to network rtk, and took out the rtk antenna. I sent it out to mow my new zones and it did them quick and straight and without any drama (and that’s the way it should be).So these are the lessons I learned so that you don’t have to1. After firmware updated cycle the mower off and back on.2. Set up a vision free zone at your charging station.ConclusionThis mower is fantastic but if you do things like I did you will be wanting get it as far away from it as fast as you possibly can. My hope is that I can save just one person from a restless night with this review.

Some things to consider when purchasing through a 3rd party sellers on Amazon
This review is detailing the process of purchase through 3rd party selling and the system within it. Read further below to see how this was addressed and what to think about. Can you tell I really want to try this mower? They seem to have worked out the shipping issues. I purchased the warranty through Amazon. This has been harrowing, but in the end, Segway and Amazon Customer service did respond. This does take many calls, but they came through in the end (so far : ) )If this mower does what it says it does, I will update this to 5 stars.————–Updated: Amazon now is working on something, it took several reps to get to a point where this seems manageable with proper responses. If this works out, the last Amazon rep I dealt with get 5/5 stars. Awaiting solution.A few things to now.1) I’ve been working on the issue for 4 1/2 hours straight2) Fedex will not work with the customer (shippee), only the shipper.3) Segway main consumer had a helpful person who cannot help with 3rd party issues (he spent 40 minutes trying).4) Working with 3rd party seller through Amazon, without a call option, means waiting 48 hours or possibly not getting a response at all.5) There will be inconsistencies in what the seller and Amazon say, and trying to figure that out is ….painful, until you get a super rep from Amazon (assuming this all works out in the end).———-Terrible experience so far. Even though it is Segway, there is no-one to speak to with 3rd party issues (their Segway number confirmed they cannot assist with any amazon orders!!!!!Tried working with Amazon and Seller at 9 in the morning and there is already a shipping Snafu.Only contact is e-mail!!!No customer support from them so far to help with the issue 24 hours later.Amazon can do nothing about it.Fedex will not work with the Shipee, only the Shipper!!!!Working within amazon messages has been useless thus far, taking up to 48 hours for a reply message.Save yourself the headache, stay away from 3rd party sellers on Amazon for something this expensive!!! Honestly, until they are in Home Depot or Lowes, don’t even consider this as an option.Side effects of purchasing through Amazon and a 3rd party seller may include: ulcers, headaches, and stomach pain from purchasing.

    Incredible!
I own two other robot mowers from Luba; but the Navimow is just superior. We love it.

These things have come a long way in a few years
This is my second attempt at automating my mowing.I tried a Husqvarna machine in 2021, and it just could not handle about a 40% slope in my backyard. Overall, my lawn is only about .25 acres, but that slope was its death knell. Not to mention the damage to my back and knees installing that damn perimeter wire…Shipped it back after about a week of frustration.I received the X430 yesterday, and while tremendously more capacity than I need, I didn’t want to take any chances with the slope. I’m happy to report it CRUSHED it. Barely broke a sweat.Overall, from unboxing to mowing took about 20 minutes, and the setup was incredibly easy. The mapping was manual as the base station didn’t have a GPS line of sight (I refuse to install the antenna on my house), but honestly, no big deal. I actually mowed about 3 times because it’s fast and charging is lightning-fast. I even tried after dark, and while not as great as daytime results, it would do in a pinch for sure if you needed to get ahead of rain. It’s early yet, but I have high hopes that I have found the mower of my dreams! If you are on the fence, you should definitely give this thing a chance to impress you. I bet it will!
