Solid saw with pro features. Punches above its price point
This is a fantastic chainsaw. I used to run Stihl saws at work (251, 029, 362, 441), and so far I’m actually really happy running this Echo. Great pro features at a much better price point than the big-name competition. Power/weight ratio is nice, and plenty of guts to buck up big (20”+) logs. Nicely balanced with the 24” bar, and comfortable to run throughout the day. And contrary to many reviews I’ve seen, it starts like a champ. Either I got lucky, or—more likely—many of the reviewers don’t have any real experience starting two stroke engines. First start took a few pulls, but was running at 6 pulls. Even below freezing, a pop of the compression release, pull of the choke, and three firm pulls gets it going. The only thing I can’t speak to yet is durability and longevity, but it feels sturdy. Overall really impressed with this saw for the price.

This chainsaw would not start, I have read another buyer said the same thing, but I thought this was a 1 time problem maybe, I mixed the right mixture of fuel and oil 50:1 and the chainsaw would not crank at all followed the instructions to the T, I have another craftsman from lowes smaller but since I bought it it starts each time without any issues, so I have contacted the seller to get this replaced or refunded I will let you know the outcome of this purchase.Took it to a dealer he said these have issues because it does not have a primer bulb it will flood each time, brought it back home and again the same issue, it will not start again I did the same things that the dealer did in front of me, no luck this is the worst chainsaw you can buy and the seller will not accept a return nor refund my money I’m taking this with amazon and with my bank. horrible experience

Great saw
Great saw and plenty of power for tough jobs. Initial startup was difficult and required starter fluid. Since the initial startup and doing 3 heat/cool cycles, it fires up in the first 1-2 pulls. For easier starting follow these steps:1 Turn saw into the “run” position2. Pull choke out (should only need the choke on for 1-2 pulls), then push back in3. DO NOT press/use the compression release (compression is vital for ignition)

I came, I sawed, I conquered.
Chances are, if you’re thinking about buying a “24 inch chain saw, you either know what you’re doing, or you’re going to discover you do not. The Echo CS-590-24 59.8cc 24” Rear Handle Timber Wolf Chainsaw is the real deal. You’re going to cut down good sized trees, and move what a hurricane left you, or you’re going to be cutting a lot of firewood. But for most job, you need something much smaller, and if so, keep moving on. It’s cold blooded, you might have a little trouble getting it started but once you do, nothing stands in its way. Hard working, long running, easy to handle, and steady. The hurricane left me with a yard full of downed tress and the Timberwolf is my only friend. Use safety glass, chaps, heavy gloves, and wear boots. This is a serious tool and you must, I repeat must, respect it as such. I have a giant live oak that went down, and this is day three of removal. This saw is everything I need.
