Words can’t describe how much I hate this software. It came with the Roland DJ-808 which I bought because I thought I can use it to DJ with it using Traktor. If I had known it was locked into Serato I would never have bought it. Serato has got the ugliest and un-intuitive interface ever. Plus it won’t connect to the controller – error cannot connect to hardware!I even tried using the controller in standalone mode with my Roland musical instruments but that is a complete waste of time; you have only four channels, four effects and a lame four part drum machine. You’d be better off DJ’ing with the MC-707 of something like that. Why have only four drum parts, why not allow the user to use snare AND clap on the same track?I actually had to get the motherboard replaced because it arrived dysfunctional. It kept crashing when using it and then kept crashing Roland’s support’s computer. That allowed me to use it in standalone mode but I have finally realised that is worthless and since it can’t connect to Serato nor Traktor and it is way past the return date I’m not sure what I’ll do with it at all.

WORTH IT.
My 8 year old son is in DJ mixing classes and he uses this and his classes. I bought it for him to practice at home also on his controller. He loves it! he can sit for hours and create music.

Favorite DJ software
There is a learning curve for new DJ’s but easy to figure out. I do like that I can have a license for my back up laptop. Most dj equipment doesn’t need a set up period. If the Serato logo is on the equipment in question that would mean its basically plug and play or just a driver installation.
