I wouldn’t call it hydrating, but it does seal in whatever moisture you already have
Love love love! It spreads really well and smells wonderful! A little goes a long way. Feels like it seals in whatever moisture my skin already has.

It’s a beautiful rose scent that doesn’t linger. My skin felt velvety soft and moisturized.
The 100 ml / 3.38 fl oz Geranium Rose body oil arrived in a well-labelled box that was tightly wrapped in plastic. Directions for Use (apply to clean, dry skin) are on the box and bottle, and ingredients are on the box. A paper insert, written in 21 languages including English, has almost the exact English only paragraph listed on the box: “Inspired by over 30 years of research and innovation…”, so it doesn’t add any info for English speakers.This is the same formula as the brand’s unscented body oil, with the addition of pelargonium graveolens oil and rosa damascene flower oil. Several perfuming agents (citronellol, geraniol, linalool, and citral) have also been added (last on the list). I haven’t experienced any irritation over the five days I’ve been using it.The beautiful rose scent was soft but obvious as I applied it. It lingered for a short time only if I brought my nose to my skin, so I wouldn’t think twice about wearing this to work, etc.I didn’t have to wait for this lightweight oil to absorb before getting dressed, but I could feel it on my skin (it feels protective, not greasy). My skin felt velvety soft and moisturized. It’s summer now, but as long as I used a generous amount, the oil moisturized my arms and legs for the entire day. On a day I used less, my drier legs needed more hydration later in the day, but my arms were fine. I also rubbed the oil from my hands into my cuticles; highly recommended.I wasn’t sure about this application method, and you do need to shake out quite a few drops if you’re applying it generously, but I ended up feeling neutral about it. I did find oil under the bottle on my night table, and the bottle itself got a bit oily, so I’m trying to be a bit more mindful about getting any excess oil off the bottle before setting it down.I’ve found myself really looking forward to using this oil after my morning shower. The rose scent provides a bit of relaxing aromatherapy, and the oil feels fabulous on my skin. It’s expensive, and the bottle isn’t large if you’re applying it generously, but I would have to say that this is my favorite body oil to date (I’ve tried quite a few but none at this price point).After five days I can’t say that my skin looks any different (the brand is promising quite a lot, which is why I’ve deducted a star), but I love the scent and feel of this oil. If, after using up the bottle I feel differently, I’ll update.Cruelty free per the brand’s web site and Ethical Elephant, but that language isn’t on the box or bottle. The oil should be good for 9 months once opened per an icon on both box and bottle. “Formulated in Germany / Made in France”.

smooth, scent-free, luxurious body oil
I received this item as a part of my membership with Amazon Vine. Ive never really used body moisturizer but have had sopme dryness issues on my legs and arms that i wanted to address before they become more of an issue for me so i wanted to start using some sort of body oil. Most that ive seen are scented and i dont want ANY scent at all. I found this items and it claimed no scent, seemed like a luxury level product and had good reviews so i figured id give it a shot. The ingredient list seems like it belongs in a kitchen, but i really like that it is all natural ingredients that you could likely ingest without fear (i dont recommend frying anything in it, lol). I started using it in the shower before i towel dried and i use very little at a time so it stretches out the use of it. It is highly absorbable and within a few minutes i am able to get dressed without staining my clothes. My skin has stopped looking like it wants to get scaly and my skin DEFINITELY feels more moisturized and clean/bright. It is very expensive but again, i use very little at a time – the trick is to do so when you are still a bit wet so that the water helps you to better and more evenly distribute the oil. I havent been using it long but i can already see it being effective against dryness. The bottle is also beautiful, def display worthy, lol

Perfection in a Body Oil
TL;DR: If you have the funds to spring for it, I cannot imagine a better body oil.I own a travel business specializing in Europe and absolutely love European beauty products. I had never heard of Augustinus Bader until I came across the products on Amazon. I have now tried five Bader products and love the brand. Even though none of the European friends I’ve asked were familiar with Bader, I saw these products at every high-end department store I visited during my recent, three-country trip to Europe.I’m not a huge fan of florals in general, so I wasn’t sure how much I would like this scent. It has a beautiful and “polite” rose scent to it. Seriously, it’s gorgeous. They must’ve hired someone with a lot of experience in the world of high-end fragrances. Once on my skin, the scent tempered down to a light, romantic rose. After a few hours, the scent is only perceptible if I put my nose right to the skin.The consistency of the oil is also flawless. It absorbed really quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and supple. It is light enough to use year-round, but I’ll probably hoard it until wintertime, when my dry skin will most appreciate and need it.I wouldn’t recommend this product if you hate the smell of roses. Otherwise, absolutely give this a try. I’m hooked.
