Miele Customer Service says that using the whole tab can cause oversudsing and leaking
We bought a house a year ago that had a Miele dishwasher. Great! A nice dishwasher! Well, within a few weeks it began leaking water on the floor and returning an F70 error. The Miele tech told me that I was oversudsing it, that I shouldn’t use the liquid detergent I was using but should use powder instead. (The manual says liquid is OK and there was no update on the Miele website, but whatever.) We keep having the problem, so the tech comes out again. This time he tells me I’m using too much powder. I wasn’t even filling it up halfway, but OK. We keep having the problem, and so this time I call because I’m tired of paying $190 for a tech to tell me that, even though I’m following his directions, I’m the reason that the dishwasher is having problems. I finally got a really helpful guy on the phone who said, among other things, the leaking would get better if we used the Miele tabs because they’re the only ones that prevent oversudsing. Great!Well, my dishwasher still leaks, I’m still using the Miele dishwasher tabs, and NOW Luis at Miele says that I need to cut the tabs in half. Using the entire tab causes the dishwasher to oversuds and leak. The year of leaking has caused mold to form under the dishwasher and might cause permanent damage to the wood underneath (we’ll need to get someone else to take a look at that and possibly have to replace part of our floor).So, Miele makes a dishwasher tab specifically for their dishwashers but if you use it as directed (the only directions on the package are to not take it out of the bag), it could cause oversudsing and leaking. And if you call Miele customer service, they may charge you $190 to send someone out to tell you that you should have magically known to cut it in half.So 5 stars for the actual washing ability of these tabs — they do get the dishes really clean.Negative 500 stars for the fact that Miele is aware of the fact that using them as directed can cause your dishwasher to oversuds and leak, yet the company DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT.

Works (surprisingly) well in Miele Dishwashers
We have a Miele Dishwasher that we’re quite happy with and found that the Miele Dishwasher Tabs 72 per box work quite well with it. We kind of stumbled into trying them out, the dishwasher dealer didn’t really push them (just barely mentioned that Miele made them), we were using Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPacs Dishwasher Detergent, Fresh Scent, 48-Count and Finish Powerball Tabs Dishwasher Detergent, Orange Scent, 32-Count, along with trying out some Cascade powder, and all of those were working fine in the Miele dishwasher. But when ordering up some salt for the dishwasher (Miele Care Collection Salt), we noticed the Miele Tabs, and ordered some to try out. Amazon is really the easiest way to get these Miele consumables, you won’t run into them at the local grocery at all (unless maybe you live in Europe), just wish Amazon would them on Subscribe & Save. And these Miele tabs worked perfectly with Miele dishwasher. I was initially skeptical, too often manufacturer tied in products are not that good, and they can be expensive (the Miele Dishwasher Tabs are certainly not cheap), but the Miele consumables seem to be the exception, they work quite well with the dishwasher, and that’s after all the main thing. You’re not buying a Miele because they’re cheap, you’re buying one because it works, and it works best with one of the Miele Dishwasher tabs.

What a difference!
Have a Miele dishwasher? Using Cascade or some other grocery sold detergent? I used to, but no more. Just bought my first box of Miele Dishwasher Tabs on Amazon, which I did reluctantly because of the price, but what a difference these tabs make to the way the machine cleans dishes. I can’t believe how many years I have owned a Miele dishwasher (this is our third), but I never wanted to spend what it cost to use Miele products in it. I figured all detergents were created equal. WRONG. I also bought the Miele rinse aid at the same time, and the combination of the two is really maximizing the machine’s performance – plus, they have completely eliminated the awful streaking on the interior door that other detergents eventually left. So not only are my dishes cleaner, so is the inside of my dishwasher. I highly recommend this product. It is worth the price.

Clean Dishes That Smell Good & Shine
My go-to dishwasher tabs. I have used these since they were suggested by the dishwasher manufacturer. One time I tried another brand, and they did not clean as well. So, I am sticking with a winner. My dishwasher always smells nice and my dishes and flatware shine. I know there is some possible plastic in the thin wrappers, so I hope it is not adding to the microplastic problem. I wonder if they could be produce without the wrapper?
