Great Purchase
I bought this just as a conversation piece. I have a small apartment so I use it as a small coffee table. (You must use coaster). Very durable, not as large as a full trunk. This is surely not a trunk that you would use to travel with. It fits throws, if you don’t want to put them on your sofa. I bought the antique looking locks just for show. I’ve seen another person who puts the one that he got in front of his front living room picture window and put plants on it to get lots of sun. Some of the reviews say that the design leaks, falls apart, etc., you just have to remember that this is mostly for looks and hold a few things. I have a couple of throws, and put my remotes and other doodads in it when people are over. I’ve seen it for a lower cost on Amazon after I bought it so you may want to put in on your “watch” list to see if it goes down 5-8 dollars. The leather straps are a nice look and work great. If you like the look of the design on the website than you will love this item.

I Think It’s Great…
I ordered this even after reading the negative reviews. I saw many people had issues, but the product I got is just fine.If you’re planning on using it for anything other than decoration then you might be disappointed. It’s pretty sturdy, but it’s not going to handle being moved around a lot and such. The clasp isn’t high quality. But again, for decoration, perhaps for a hard core Harry Potter fan, it’s GREAT!!

6/3/23: Update – Because I really liked the trunk, I reached out to Amazon and the company to try to reconcile in some way. One good thing I found out is that the company has a one year warranty for the trunk. However, you have to try to work out the problem bc Amazon first until no longer eligible. I reluctantly requested a replacement bc I believe I would have the same problem. But to my pleasant surprise, it’s perfect! It shipped the next car andNo issues with the assembly. Everything looks secure and is working properly. Locket even works well! Glad I gave it a second chance.Read and ignored all the reviews but was still in shock. The latch fell off along with the screws the moment I gently took it out of the box! What sucks is that it’s a really nice looking trunk. Just poorly assembled. The screws should really have washers to keep it together but they do not even reach to the other side. I have contacted the company and hoping for a resolution. Nice on the eyes yet flimsy.

Great piece! Size, color and decorative touches as stated. Purchased at a lower price, so it was a great value. Shipped with 3/4 of an inch cardboard all around trunk which was great because the box arrived badly damaged and heavily taped on one side and yet, I found not one scratch. Very pleased with this purchase!

I’m in love!!
I purchased an “open box” trunk and received a small discount. I’ve been looking for a trunk at a decent price that was nice looking just to hold blankets and throws in our bedroom. The trunk was in pristine condition and is now holding three throws, a queen size blanket and a mermaid tail blanket. I could probably put one more throw in there. The design is so nice that even my husband likes it. He said it reminds him of the old steamer trunks that people use to travel with. The trunk is lined, has leather straps with brass nail heads and a brass floppy lock in the center. Couldn’t be happier with it.

New and came looking Used and Damaged. CHEAP MATERIAL AND POORLY MADE
I bought two of these used, separate orders. The first one came and the whole lock was missing so I sent it back and ordered this one, BRAND NEW, at regular price. The second used one came and it was in great shape. I love it! The replacement, which was BRAND NEW, came with missing screws and the lock hanging halfway off, so I’m sending this one back too. I decided to buy the replacement BRAND NEW because of how the first used one came with a missing lock. The ability to lock the chest is important to me so I’m totally dissatisfied. by looking at other reviews with people having the same problem I think this company should really address this issue when making this product. So buy at your own risk. You might luck up with a used one that looks new or you might strike out with purchasing new one that looks used and is damaged.I am adding on this review. I got a replacement NEW chest and the damn lock came off came right off again. I’m done returning this it. It’s made poorly and it’s cheap material. I am going to gorilla glue the lock back on.😡
